Greater Los Angeles Homeless Youth Count

YP2F coordinates the Greater Los Angeles Homeless Youth Count in collaboration with the University of Southern California and Los Angeles Homelessness Services Authority. This count serves as a point-in-time estimate of the county's unsheltered youth population, which is required by HUD (Housing and Urban Development) and helps with funding, understanding, and advocacy. Unlike the visual tally used for adult counts, the Youth Count is survey-based. Young people are approached and asked about their housing status, as youth homelessness often can't be assessed visually. The count covers a sample of the county over a 10-day period.
